LIGAYA - Christmas
December 2024 - January 2025
Summary:
LIGAYA Christmas Trivia
The LIGAYA Christmas Trivia project teaches students about Jesus' birth, Advent, and the true essence of Christmas, highlighting Catholic faith values. Trivia questions were shared on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the first two weeks of December. Answers can be submitted at the Student Activities Office, with SC merchandise as prizes for winners.Sweet Spirit of Christmas
The School Council invited students to spread kindness through festive cooking in the "Sweet Spirit of Christmas." Participants made rice crispies to share with loved ones and school staff. Ingredients and safety guidelines were provided; students brought their own aprons.Christmas Drive
The Student Council and the World Culture Club encourage Judenites to donate gently used clothes, toys, and books from December 1 to 18, 2024, and January 6 to 10, 2025. On January 11, 2025, donations will be given to the Virlanie Foundation to support underprivileged children.

The Student COuncil
This is the high school student’s governing board whose officers are duly elected by the student body every year. It acts as the unifying, motivating, and coordinating force of student activities of the High School Department. Organization for the Advancement of Scientific Interest of Students (OASIS)
The word OASIS is defined as a particular spot in a desert where greenery or water is found. It can also be described as a calm space amidst the busy or chaotic surroundings. The Catalyst
Catalyst is a substance that causes or accelerates a chemical reaction without itself being affected, referring to the prime agent of change. Matrix

Diners’ Club
The Diners' Club teaches young Judenites basic skills in preparing and cooking local and international delicacies. Film Enthusiasts Club
Film Enthusiasts Club is an organization for students who are passionate about Film. This club is not just limited to watching films but also for those who would like to try directing, producing, acting, and writing films. Creative Hands

Books and Beyond
The Books and Beyond Library Club, established in 2019, offers members the joy of reading and engaging in fun, skill-enhancing activities. Members enjoy perks like borrowing extra books, extended reading time, and exclusive access to library discussion rooms for academic use. Techies Circle
Techies Circle is the Information and Communication Technology(ICT) in Junior High School that focuses on learning about the advancement of technology. Youth for Environmental Sustainability Club (YES)
The objective of the YES Club is to cultivate students' interest in environmental conservation and raise awareness of current environmental issues. Cultural Clubs
Bagani
Bagani is a club which aims to enhance the learning development of Judenite students in different fields of Social Studies like history, socio-cultural awareness, political and economic ideologies, and others. With fun, the members of this club will have various activities to promote the love for Social Studies like participating in a historical play, writing a Social Studies book, tutoring for the upcoming major examinations and others. Elevation – The SJCS Dance Troupe

Drum, Bugle, and Marimba Corps. (DBMC)
The Drum, Bugle, Marimba Corps is a school band and performing arts organization of SJCS. The DBMC supports all band related programs including flag retreats, concert performances, parades and competitions.Moderator: Mr. Samuel Dave Layson

Christian Life Community (CLC)
The True Christian Life Community is a religious group for high school students, focused on devotion to Mary and the Eucharist, faithfulness to the Catholic creed, and service to the Church, enhancing their personal and communal Christian life.Moderator: Mrs. Maricel Ingoy
Knights of the Altar (KAS)
Knights of the Altar Society is a club through which Judenites undergo Christian formation for and through service in the altar of the Lord. As Jesus' knights, members are called to and formed in the ideals of honor, justice, chivalry, commitment, and service to the Church. Hence, the knights render faithful, reverent, and edifying service to God by assisting His visible representatives, the bishops and the priests, in offering the Holy Mass and other liturgical and devotional functions.Moderator: Mr. Matthew Cortez

This club was founded for the purpose of helping young entrepreneurs in creating and starting their own business. It also promotes innovative way of thinking to further educate students in the world of business.Moderator: Ms. Hazel Rosales
Architecture and Engineering Club (APEX)
This club aims to develop SHS STEM Engineering students’ critical thinking, spatial ability, and creativity through hands-on activities and projects that complement their STEM education. The club shall anticipate its members’ higher-level education in engineering, architecture, and other related programs, as well as facilitate their growth into responsible members of the construction industry.Moderator: Mr. Jhay Francisco, LPT
Aspiring Medical Practitioners (AMP)
This club aims to foster and enrich the interest of aspiring medical practitioners. This promotes an opportunity for students to understand better the complexity of the medical field.Moderator: Ms. Paola Busto, LPT
World Culture Club (WCC)
This club aims to bring awareness, and appreciation to different cultures all over the world. In the past few years, we have seen many people fall victim to racism and discrimination, due to the fact that these victims’ cultures are misunderstood or not well-known. Culinary Arts Development Club
The club provides a friendly and supportive environment where students can learn the basics of cooking, experiment with different varieties of ingredients and enjoy the art of the culinary world.Moderator: Ms. Gian Carla Rico, LPT
The Artisans’ Guild
The main objective of this club is to create a community of artisans that promotes camaraderie through crafting and participating in various educational activities with relation to art. Judenite Makers and Models Association (JMMA)
This is a club that focused on fashion, design, and modeling. It aims to create an environment for students with interests in fashion, whether it be modeling the clothes or designing the collections, to grow and pursue it. This way, the students are able to enhance these skills and passions into options for future career paths or pastime hobbies.Moderator: Mr. Lodeo Pascual, LPT
The Codebreakers Club
This club provides exciting and unique opportunities for students’ enjoyment and community building. It strives to bring students together from diverse strands, create a community amongst students, and impart the members with knowledgeable memories that will last a lifetime.Moderator: Mr. Amer Ian Gagarin
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
View all the upcoming student activities using the SCalendar!The SCalendar is a project that aims to provide students in the high school department accessibility and convenience in viewing scheduled events and activities, and real-time updates regarding scheduling for the school year through the application Google Calendar. The departments from the Student Council and Student Activities Coordinator would be responsible for keeping track and updating future events. With the said project, the SCalendar further aims to establish an alternative mode of prompt information dissemination and to improve the students’ welfare through a flexible layout of said events of the school year.

School Opening 2024

Summary:
As the Judenite community embarks on another academic year, the SJCS Student Council (SC) is excited to join the student body in welcoming this fresh start with enthusiasm and energy. This year’s School Opening event, themed “Inside Out 2,” celebrates the new school year and this important milestone through interactive booths at the Student Activities Center, where students can actively participate and engage.This year’s activities included the following:
A photo booth;
A thumbprint wall;
A merchandise booth;
A candy station;
A bracelet-making station; and,
An online countdown;
Committee Sign-Ups
August 3, 2024 - September 1, 2024
Summary:
The SJCS Student Council has opened its Student Civil Service (SCS) Committees sign-ups for the new school year.These committees include Judenite Pride, Judenites in Actions, Communications, Logistics, and the Media Circle.Interested students can register through shared publications, email blasts, school booth activities, and a Google form link for sign-ups.
Key Accomplishments:
- Successfully set-up five committee booths open for student activities;
- Purchased official stamps for each committee;
- Filmed and released committee promotion videos;
- Uploaded quality publication materials appropriate to the theme of the school opening;
- Maximized online promotion and communication on all platforms, including Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, and Email;
Club Fair
August 8 - 16, 2024
Summary:
The Club Fair is an online project to create engaging social media posts that give students details on club grading, each club's activities, what to look forward to, and how to join. Along with giving the chance for students to get to know each club's moderators through their personal statements
Key Accomplishments:
- All junior high school clubs were featured with statements from their moderators, providing a bride overview of each club's mission and encouraging student participation
- Shared details on the schedule and grading of clubs on social media.
Buwan ng wika
August 31, 2024
Summary:
As the school begins its first month of the academic year, coinciding with Buwan ng Wika, the Student Council released publications to raise awareness of the celebration.These efforts aimed to highlight the importance of Buwan ng Wika, especially within the context of the school's identity as a Chinese-Filipino institution, fostering a deeper appreciation for Filipino language and culture.
Key Accomplishments:
- Was able to inform students about the Buwan ng Wika celebration
- Made publications to celebrate Buwan ng Wika disseminated through Instagram and Facebook.
Induction rites 2024
September 25, 2024
Summary:
Through Induction Rites 2024, we had the opportunity to formally recognize Class Officers, Batch Officers, Club Presidents, the Student Civil Service, The Judenites Editorial Board, and the Student CouncilThe event aimed to not only honor their leadership but also to inspire fellow students to take on active leadership roles within the school community.
Key Accomplishments:
- Lights, sound, presentation, and all technical aspects were set up and tested before the event; the production team was well-organized.
- Logistics members fully understood and effectively carried out their roles.
- The "Passing of the Torch" ceremony, held for the first time, featured a message from outgoing Student Council President Jiarri Lim and welcomed the Student Council Central Board for S.Y. 2024-2025
- Solidified a sense of responsibility into the student leaders.
Hollywood Dreams: A Night of Stars and Stories
September 27, 2024
Summary:
In appreaciation of our educators' hard work and dedication, the school warmly celebrates Teachers' Day 2024 with the theme "Hollywood Dreams: A Night of Stars and Stories." In collaboration and cooperation with each high school batch, a program was presented to school administrators, teachers, and staff. During the celebration, high school, and IBDP faculty members received gifts and invitations from the Student Council.
Key Accomplishments:
- Posts and videos regarding the celebration were shared across our social media pages throughout the celebration.
- The Teachers' Day program was successfully executed.
- More than 100 teachers received gifts and invitations from the Student Council.
- Tokens of appreciation were gifted to the service awardees.
- Over 200 staff members and students participated in the celebration's DP Blast.
Mid-Autumn Festival
September 11-17, 2024
Summary:
Publications about the Mid-Autumn Festival and its traditions were shared to raise awareness and appreciation of this cultural celebration.These efforts aimed to foster a deeper understanding of cultural diversity and its significance within the student body, promoting inclusivity and respect for various traditions.

Pista ng Pag-Asa
October 19-28, 2024
Summary:
The Pista ng Pag-asa aims to inform the Judenite Community about the feast day of our patron saint, Saint Jude Thaddeus. We were able to post information about the procession and the feast day through the publication materials created
Key Accomplishments:
- Posted publication materials on important dates to remind Judenites of details for the procession or of the feast day.
- Publication materials were all finished on time providing a smooth flow of posting.
School fair
November 8-9, 2024
Summary:
SJCS School Fair 2024: Retrospect featured the fantastic return of fun games, thrilling rides, and exciting activities to the well-loved Judenite experience, highlighting club booths, a thrift shop, and the like. The school-wide event became a celebration of togetherness that fostered a spirit of hope and gratefulness in the SJCS school community.Under the School Fair, the SJCS SC conducted JudeKNIGHT Finds: A LIKASYaman Thrift Shop in which Judenites anonymously sold pre-loved items through the council to other members of the SJCS community.The SJCS SC also partnered with the Homecoming Batch of 1999 to set up a stall for selling joint SC and alumni merchandise.
Key Accomplishments:
- Gathered over 20 sellers for the JudeKNIGHT Finds
- Judenite sellers made over Php 40000 in profit from JudeKNIGHT Finds
- Made over Php 20000 selling leftover stocks of the Athletes Collection and other previous SC Merchandise
- Aided the AA in selling over Php10000 worth of Nostos merchandise

Summary:
Judenites' Month celebrated the diverse talents and accomplishments of each Judenite through a month-long series of engaging activities. Under the theme of “The Judenite Time Odyssey," we introduced the following activities:Pep Rally: A program spotlighting our dedicated athletes who uphold our school to the highest standards.E-Games Competition: A showdown featuring three online tournaments: Mobile Legends, Dress to Impress, and Valorant.Door Decorating Contest: All High School classes were encouraged to showcase their creativity by decorating their doors in accordance with the JMonth theme.Alumni Timeline Wall: Our tribute to our dearest alumni where they shared their personal experiences while studying at SJCS.
Pep Rally

Summary:
Pep Rally is an event where we celebrate the unwavering hard work, dedication, and commitment our Judenite Athletes uphold to bring pride and honor to our school in various sports.Throughout this one-day event, we recognized the faces and names of the athletes who bring pride to the school. They also prepared a heartwarming performance for us, which awed the audience. Finally, this event also instilled in the Judenite Community a sense of pride and love for being a Saint Jude Catholic School student.

November 2024
Summary:
In this pilot episode of Judenite Live, the long-awaited fruit of a collaboration between the SJCS Student Council and The Judenites Newspaper, members interviewed students with the theme of Judenite Pride in mind. Through spontaneous interviews and on-the-spot questions, the episode featured students celebrating the best of Judenites Month and allowed them to reminisce their memories as Judenites.

Judenites Got talent
Judenites Got Talent (JGT) is the premier Judenite talent competition open to all high school students of Saint Jude Catholic School. Currently in its 11th Season, JGT has been a staple event held every other school year.
Leadership Training Workshop
The Leadership Training Workshop is an annual workshop designed to improve not only students' skills in leadership but also in innovation, communication, and creativity. Furthermore, this workshop helps Judenite leaders exhibit their talents and skills appropriate to real-life situations.
Pep Rally
The Pep Rally is an event which aims to give recognition to the athletes who have been continuously bringing glory and pride to our school. This event gives the student body and the school varsity teams a chance to interact, connect, and bond as one community.

Judenites Got Talent (JGT) is the premier Judenite talent competition open to all high school students of Saint Jude Catholic School. Currently in its 11th Season, JGT has been a staple event held every other school year.

Leadership training workshop
The Leadership Training Workshop is an annual workshop designed to improve not only students' skills in leadership but also in innovation, communication, and creativity. Furthermore, this workshop helps Judenite leaders exhibit their talents and skills appropriate to real-life situations.
